Joost Luiten navigated an extremely windy Ocean Course at Kiawah Island to head into the weekend at the USPGA Championship nestled inside the top 20.

Having opened with a four under par 66 on Thursday, the flying Dutchman is tied 15th on one over after 17 holes, a solid score considering the severity of the conditions.

Luiten will finish his round on Saturday after play was suspended at 8.16pm local time because of darkness.

Charl Schwartzel is inside the top 40 on three over, while Darren Clarke and Louis Oosthuizen were also safely inside the cut mark.

Chris Wood is tied third at the Thailand Open, two shots off the lead on 13 under after shooting a superb eight under 64 in his second round.

Richard Finch is on six under following a level par 72. He is joined in tied 39th by Scott Arnold, who carded a four under 68. Dave Horsey is five under after signing for a three under 69.

Ben An is tied ninth at the Norwegian Challenge on nine under, five shots off the lead, after firing a five under 67 in his second round, while Chris Lloyd and Alexandre Kaleka are poised one shot following successive rounds of 68.

Matthew Nixon is seven under and Tyrone Ferreira is six under, while Ross McGowan, Simon Wakefield, Espen Kofstad and Nick Dougherty all made the cut on five under.

Alan Dunbar is tied 11th at the European Individual Amateur Championship on five under after signing for a one under 71 in his third round.
