I think I have the chance to do something great tomorrow - I’m still confident

- Gregory Bourdy

Gregory Bourdy remains in the hunt for victory at the Italian Open after finishing in the red numbers for the third successive round.

Bourdy, who fired a stunning 64 on Friday, is tied fifth on 13 under par at Royal Park I Roveri, four shots off the lead after signing for a two under 70.

"I didn’t start well but I think I played a solid round," he said. "Unfortunately, I didn’t make a lot of putts, especially on the back nine.

The Frenchman remains optimistic ahead of his final round in Turin.

"I’m not leading, and I’m not in the top three now, but I think I have the chance to do something great tomorrow," said Bourdy. "I’m still confident – there were some very good things in my game today.

"I’m still there, just four shots off the lead. In golf, that’s nothing, so I’ll try to do my best to do a great round."

Shiv Kapur was also two under and is tied 22nd on ten under, while Tommy Fleetwood is poised one shot behind in tied 29th after his third successive 69.

Fredrik Andersson Hed and David Howell, two under and level par today respectively, are both inside the top 40 on eight under.
