One start, one win

- Rhys Enoch

Rhys Enoch secured a two-shot victory at Bowood Golf & Country Club on his first professional start.

Enoch, one of Wales’ most-promising golfers, began his second round at the Jamega Tour event three shots off the lead.

Enoch fired five birdies on the front nine to reach the turn two shots clear and arrived at the 18th needing only a par to secure victory.

He did better than that, though, chipping in for a birdie to triumph on five under and claim the £2,500 winner’s cheque.

"Boom," Enoch, playing in his first tournament since recovering from glandular fever, wrote on Twitter. "One start, one win."

Enoch turned professional after a glittering amateur career.

Upon joining International Sports Management, managing director, Andrew 'Chubby' Chandler, said: "I have been very impressed by his talent.

"He hits the ball prodigious distances and could go a long way in the game as well with experience."
