Wood Shows Form at Killarney

It was a great week in Ireland for our boys with four players finishing in the top twenty.

England's Chris Wood earned top honours and finished in a tie for 3rd on fourteen under par after shooting rounds of 71, 65, 66 and 68, just four shots behind playing partner and winner, England's Ross Fisher who claimed his fourth European Tour title. Chris played consistently throughout the event and this finish puts him in 34th in the Race to Dubai.

Holland's Joost Luiten continues to impress and finished in a tie for 9th on nine under par, a final round of 66 lifting him up the leaderboard. Joost goes to 58th in the Race to Dubai, just inside the top 60.

Newly ordained Ryder Cup vice captains, Clarke and Mcginley both had a good week. Darren finished in a tie for 12th on eight under and Paul was one shot further back on seven under, his best finish so far this year.

England's Richard Finch struggling with the putter for the first three rounds shot a final round 67 which moved him up to finish in a tie for 31st.

Rory McIlroy started the week well with a 67 and 68 but added a disappoining 76 and 71 and was tied 35th.

David Howell, who was at the head of affairs after a 64 on day one, finished in a tie for 44th and South Africa's Anton Haig finished on the same score.

England's Florentyna Parker took her place in the field for the Ricoh Women's British Open at her home course, Royal Birkdale, and finished tied 55th. Flory began the week with a disappointing 77, followed that up with 71 and then had a 79 in round three. On the final day she was firing on all cylinders and put in a fine round of 68, making three birdies in the final four holes. Yani Tseng won the event on eleven under par.
