
Buoyed by his tied 12th finish in the USPGA Championship at Whistling Straits, England's Simon Dyson travelled to the Czech Republic and finished in a tie for 5th place. Simon put together rounds of 70, 69, 69 and 72 to leave him on a total of 280, eight under par.
The event was won by Sweden's Peter Hanson who won a three-man play-off with Gary Boyd and Peter Lawrie. Hanson holed an eighteen foot putt on the second extra hole to claim the title.
Simon is in 13th position in the Ryder Cup points list and will be looking to claim a spot for Celtic Manor with a good finish at Gleneagles next week.
Also in action this week with hopes for the Ryder Cup was Ross McGowan who finished in a tie for 25th after finishing the event at one under par. Ross is currently 12th in the Ryder Cup points list and will also be looking for a high finish in Scotland.
All eyes will be on Gleneagles on Sunday when Colin Montgomerie announces his wild card picks for the Ryder Cup and his team will then be finalised for the contest at Celtic Manor in October.
England's Richard Finch finiished in a tie for 20th in the Czech Republic on two under par which lifts him to 51st in the Race to Dubai and with a few more good performances he is hoping to reach his goal of being in the top 60 and earning a place in the season ending Dubai World Championship.
South Africa's Anton Haig finished in a tie for 29th alongside first round leader Shiv Kapur who dropped down the leaderboard after a final round of 77.
