Gareth was seven when his Dad took him for his first golf lesson and things progressed from there. He has played full time since 1997 and represented Wales as an amateur travelling worldwide with the Welsh team. He was part of the Welsh team that won the Home Internationals in 2002 for the first time in history. He is also the only Welsh winner of the Irish Youths Championship which was also in 2002.
