Anton became only the sixth Affiliate Member of The European Tour to capture a title and therefore attain status as a Full Member when he won the 2007 Johnnie Walker Classic in Phuket on only his 18th Tour start. Youngest in a family of four boys, his earliest golfing recollection is watching his hero, Ernie Els, in the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City. Won the South African Amateur Championship before turning professional in 2004 and won twice in his native country before trying his luck on the Asian Tour. Made a rapid impact, winning the 2006 Pulai Springs Malaysian Masters. Decision to pay his £2000 Affiliate Member's fee at the start of 2007 proved wise when he beat Richard Sterne and Oliver Wilson in a play-off for the Johnnie Walker Classic.
