Michael became the first Frenchman to be crowned the Challenge Tour Number One after a stunning final round at the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final saw him win both the tournament and the 2007 Challenge Tour Rankings.

A brilliant five under par 66 on the final day saw him take the top prize of €42,000 and jump from seventh to first on the Rankings with season's earnings of €128,927, setting a new Challenge Tour record. It was his first win of the 2007 season and could not have been better timed.

Michael has since failed to make an impact on the European Tour and narrowly missed out on securing a card for 2012 at qualifying school final stage.

He hails from Biarritz and, naturally, spends his spare time on the beach or following his hometown rugby team.
