Scott was the World's Number One Amateur playing off plus 3 when he turned professional in 2009. The Australian had a number of victories as an amateur including The Lake McQuarie Amateur, the Australian Strokeplay and the New South Wales Cup which he won three years in a row.
He played in the 3 Irish Open as an amateur and then played in the European Open at The London Club, his first professional event. Although Scott struggled to play his best golf as a professional early on, he found his game on the PGA Tour of Australia and on The One Asia Tour. He finished tied third in the GC Caltex Maekung in April 2010 and had a number of top 10s in 2010.
His breakthrough win came in the Victorian Open in January 2012 where he beat fellow countryman Kurt Barnes by one shot.
Scott's father, being a golf professional was his inspiration in taking up the game and his golfing heroes are Greg Norman and Tiger Woods. Scott is also friends with former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting.
