After deciding to be a leg spinner as an eight-year-old, Mason was being tipped for inclusion in the England squad just 10 years later.

He made his Hampshire debut in the NatWest T20 Blast in Juy 2015, with Kumar Sangakkarar his first wicket as he bowled figures of 2-35.

Mason continues to make steady progress for his county and has represented his country at U17 and U19.

He played his first winter abroad in 2016/17, earning praise for his performances for Gordon CC in Australia.

Mason became the first overseas player since Imran Khan in 1984/85 to be selected for New South Wales and had match figures of 5-116 in his team's eight-wicket win over South Australia.

Mason made his England debut with figures of 0-24 in the nine-wicket T20 international victory against South Africa in Southampton on 21 June 2017 and took his first wicket when he took the scalp of AB de Villiers as England won the third match to take the series 2-1.
